FO: Hanne

The cons:
It's a bit too big - the garter stitch stretched more than anticipated.
The handspun is a bit scratchy next to my skin.

The pros:
The colours are gorgeous and I love the way they have combined in garter stitch with the mitres.
Judicious pinning will mitigate the over-sized-ness.
Will be lovely to wear over a turtle-neck in winter.
I've finally found a photography angle that gives me curves.

A little bit of lace

Lace Bookmark, originally uploaded by Paisley Womble.

Friday-night crime, watching Midsomer Murders, a simple bit of lace knitting, then reading myself to sleep with Edward Cullen for company. Ah.... bliss.

Matchy Matchy - again

DSC03087, originally uploaded by Paisley Womble.

J and D show off their new hats in a mixture of black sheep handspun (fleece from J's Grandpa) and some of Marta's Yarns hand-dyed 8 ply merino.

The pattern is BrooklynTweed's Turn a Square which is a simple and super quick (I knit both hats in one day). D's hat is knit as written. I down-sized the pattern for J with a little educated guess-work.

Coming down to land...

DSC03000, originally uploaded by Paisley Womble.

Travelling by portkey is so undignified for the uninitiated.

My longed-for Gryffindor socks are finished and I love them. I didn't bother to try and match the stripes (perhaps as an homage to Dobby the house-elf... does that sound like an appropriate excuse? - better than just sheer laziness) but sat back and let them fall where they would whilst knitting from the inside and outside of the ball at the same time (my favoured way of knitting two-at-a-time socks).

Ravelled here.
