This deserves an exclamation mark since I almost never swatch properly. But the Hanne pattern forces your hand.
I'm using up the leftover handspun grey merino corriedale from the Mr Greyjeans cardigan and some beautiful smooth 8 ply merino in a variegated red colourway from Marta's Yarns that has been sitting in my stash for a long time - just waiting for the right project.

Fragance of barnyard....
.... or rather sheep paddock really.
C's dad has a couple of black sheep whose fleeces are no good for inclusion in the rest of his clip (black fleece being seen as a contaminant in a bale of white) so they (the fleeces, not the sheep) have come to live with me. K's a little bewildered that I could possibly make use of them, so there may be a hat or a vest going his way in the future. D has requested a hat which is giving me ideas of doing a mini-D version for J. OTT cuteness an' all that.

There's something very graceful about emus...
The way their "skirt" of feathers hangs just so;

You wouldn't want to get in the way of one of their high kicks;

Not so different to ballerinas I guess;

I was never into ballet;

But I know a little girl - about to turn 5 - who is;

So this is for her.

In preparation for the film release of Half Blood Prince...
... I am finally making the Gryffindor socks that I have been wanting to make for several years.
Self-striping soft sock yarn from Sunshine Yarns. This always sells out super quick when Dani does a store update, so the easiest way to get your mitts on some is when she does one of her Harry Potter sock clubs.
