Swatching is usually one of those necessary evils that I do whilst angsting that I'll run out of yarn in the project if I waste it on a swatch.
So it's quite liberating to set myself to a task where the swatch is an end in itself.
I recently got my copy of the KnitSonik Stranded Colourwork Sourcebook by Felicity Ford.
With Felix's encouragement, we've been "swatch-along-ing" over at the KnitSonik group on Ravelry and she has published a blog post on some of the work we've done. (I'm feeling warm and fuzzy over the nice things she says about my project).
This is my first "self-designed" piece of colourwork.
Inspired by this holiday snap from the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco.
